Absolutely delicious added to porridge or yogurt for a healthy breakfast.
500g cooking apples
50g brown sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp water
1 small knob of butter/dairy free butter (optional)
How to make your stewed apples
Peel, core and chop apples. Add to saucepan with sugar, lemon zest and water.
Gently heat and cover with lid. Stir occasionally until apples are very soft and losing their shape.
Remove from heat and stir small knob of butter (or dairy free butter) through.
To Serve: Serve with porridge or yogurt.
